The Fair Night

Night was, is and will always be dark. There was no point in complaining about the degree of darkness, its depth and different shades. Yet, the night revealed more than it concealed. And, it was raining. Not a pitter-patter rain. Instead, it was raining cats-and-dogs. An unexpected blessing, of course.

No one saw the rain wash the blood stains on her feet. Slowly she unwrapped the knife from the folds of her skirt and held it under the rain, washing away further evidence. When thunder clapped its hands, she let the knife fall and gently kicked it into the drain nearby and walked away.

Even the Gods were with her. It was not a crime. It was justice.
